Big Bad: Of Soul Calibur V as Elysium. Cool Sword: In its first form in SoulCalibur and Soul Calibur II it was a fork-bladed jian. It returns to this form in V when Elysium mimics Lexia's fighting style. Otherwise it tends to have an icy, crystalline appearance. Soul Calibur V STORY: Soul Calibur V is set 17 years after Soul Calibur IV (1607) and expands upon Siegfried's ending from the prequel. Siegfried, now 39 years old, no longer wields the Soul Calibur sword. The main character of SC5's storyline is Patroklos Alexander, the son of Sophitia. Patroklos's sister Pyrrha was abducted at a young age and remembers nothing of her childhood, including her.
Maxi I'd see being a martial artist monk if anything; as few Su powers as possible, while still having that 'moxy' 'wink wink, pun, yes'Xiba.hopefully, a corpse. Sorry, I cry when I see him and hear about his 'Steam puns' driven life. But in all seriousness; like Maxi, you'd need that degree of rapid striking with a quarterstaff. I'd imagine Xiba being lower lvl then Maxi and Kilik, so who knows if he'd develop dramatic Ki powers.Raphael; definately Swashbuckler base like people are saying, but also some sort of illusionary evasions, so perhaps a bit of Rogue, to get Minor Magic/Major Magic, etc.Voldo; despite his weird fighting style, could really just be the fluff; other then that he is an agile 2 weapon warrior, so Reckless traited Fighter could do his build. Now, what I'd wonder is, how do you build Algol? Some ones that havent been done yet off the top of my head:Nightmare is an Armored Hulk Barbarian with that one item (Demons talon?) that replaces a hand with one that has a claw one size category larger than yourself. And a minor artifact weapon.Mitsurugi is a lvl 20 fighter.
A class as boring as he is but also very effective if we assume no-one else is that high level. Barring Algol (who I'd classify as some weird Eldritch knight) and Edgemaster (Who is basically every class gestalted together), anyway.EDIT: Now I'm wondering how Patrokolos and Pyrrha could be made remotely effective. The game lists their style as 'Short sword and Small shield.' That would be terrible in Pathfinder. I guess we see why they got sturyline upgrades. Tiefling (demon-spawn) Antipaladin 14 / Titan Mauler Barbarian 6(AP 5 / bar 6 / AP +9).scaled skin alt.

If you look closely it's clear that he's a cunning opportunist, a Rogue to the core (or Slayer, aka Rogue+).You dont need to be dumb to be a barbarian, but you do need to fight with 'precision' to get sneak attack, and uh, that aint the word I'd use for nightmare. You may also note that his entire style revolves around brutally crushing his enemies, which is definitely Barbarian territory, IMO.And I would say Minor artifact only because Soul Edge was only recently reformed in 5, and less powerful than in previous games.
This much is mostly spitballing on my part of course, since we don't get a lot of information in the 'Story' mode. A lot of his character is designed around baiting in an opponent with a big slow looking attacking (such as 66B or 1A if you're familiar with the competitive terminology) and then punching them in the face.Another big part of his game is his excellent oki (fighting vs prone opponents). If you've ever played a really good Nightmare you know that he gets very, very scary if he scores a knockdown.
Taking advantage of prone opponents screams Pathfinder Rogue to me.Also, consistently across games he has always been very good at taking advantage of his surroundings with some of the best wall combos and ring out options.I could maybe see a dip in Barbarian (Jotungrip in particular) but to depict him as anything but a cunning opportunist would be a mistake IMO. Also, I'm sad about all the flack SC gets for the boobage. While I wouldn't call the series innocent, it is far better than a lot of fighting games.
I'd go so far as to say that in this regard, SC is pretty standard for the triple A market. While there are notable outliers like Ivy and Sophitia, most of the cast is very modest. In fact I think SC is a lot better on the gender equality front, as they sexualize men just as much as women. Look at Voldo. Even aside from him, seriously look at the SCV roster. I reckon there are more pretty boys with bare chests than there are women with oversized breasts. I mean sure, some of them are for male power fantasies (such as Astaroth) but the general tendency towards sleek bodies and soft smooth faces much more closely resembles something out of a female fantasy like Ouran or Twilight than a testosterone fest like Gears of War or God of War (uh, except for the time Kratos actually did show up).
Nightmare would be a Dungeon Crasher Fighter (3.5 archetype), and maybe a stint in Monk or Brawler for unarmed strikes/ Vicious Stomp.Think about it. That covers his wall and ground game (if they are lying down you can easily crush them into the ground for extra damage), as well as ringout potential.Rogues actually don't get any special benefit from hitting enemies who have their backs on the ground or to a wall, nor can they wear plate or use whatever exotic weapon you refluff Soul Edge as (personally, I couldn't find any swords with reach, but I think the zweihander/fullblade kinda deserves stats equal to a fauchard).

In fact (in moderation) it can be a good thing - it can actually make a female character more 'bad-ass.' The key being finding a good balance between providing hetero-male fanservice and providing characters that female gamers would actually want to play. (i.e., not throwing 'gamer girls' under the bus so to speak.)I believe that Soul Caliber 2's art hit that balance, but the progression from that point has been 'too much' of a good thing.:). Like I said, I will agree that he's smart, but striking someone unexpectedly is a rage power. CalledUnless I'm mistaken, isn't everyone pretty screwed when they hit the ground?Side note: I hit b4 in ranked online matches with 1. Nightmare and 2. Xiba also has a lot of good ground game and wall combos. If we use that as a basis for 'rogue-ness' then Xiba would be an equal candidate, which I just can't see either.

Why do you say raphael is a horizon walker dudefor fluff: as of SCV he's traveled a hell of a long way in search of the missing Amy, and mechanically: the 3-levl dip allows him to grab dimension door as an SLA to meet the prereqs for the dimensional dervish line (which allows him do his teleporty fighting like in the games.). Actually i'd say a cleric or oracle of nethys, personally (just wielding a scythe regardless):while he's big on souls and the afterlife (so i can see urgathoa or even pharasma working as well) and how to get his immortal butt in it (which he then ironically works to undo once he DOES become mortal again), he's a powerful spellcaster-he's the one who resurrected/re-bound nightmare to a new body in SC3, and has managed to both cure AND re-instate his own immortality with the aim of seeing the world's future firsthand and learning more from it. I guess he just spent the feat for heavy armor. Speaking of embarrassing things that happened to Nightmare, Zwei (no, I'm not using the acronym until we learn what it stands for)!
The best I can come up with for him is a heavily reflavored Melee summoner with half of an eidolon. New base type? It would've made more sense.Anyway, Zwei being a melee-focused summoner would make the most sense. His fighting style is more flashy than practical, but doesn't incorporate much in the way of flips and the like (just the one attack, from what I've seen).
I'm debating as to whether he's a finesse fighter or not. Rynjin wrote: Love Zaslamel for noob stomping.Nah, man. Flapjacks for everyone. Would these count as dirty tricks? I'm debating as to whether he's a finesse fighter or not.Well, ask yourself this: Does it make him weaker? If so, it goes a ways towards capturing the essence of the characters style, IMO. Although, just by looking at these characters, I think the only ones who don't use STR primarily are the ladies. My vote goes to using the Dazzling Display feats for Two.Minor tangentSeriously though, When I started playing SCV there were three characters I wanted to play: Nightmare, Aeon, and Zwei. The only character I've seen worse than Zwei is Aeon./Minor TangentI want to say another Barbarian for Aeon.
TWF with Battleaxes. Possibly with the Beast totem considering the bite attacks and the general savagery you see from him. I mean one of his victory animations is just him mauling something. One of the best options I see here is just perfect for one of the weakest characters.
I'm okay with that. Rynjin wrote: Love Zaslamel for noob stomping.Nah, man. Flapjacks for everyone. Would these count as dirty tricks? I don't speak AzteMesopolonian, so I can't even pronounce half of his moveset. Flapjack will work on noobs 99% of the time if you spend the first two rounds never attacking low, then doing it.Okay, maybe I'm the bad person.I know a guy who was incapacitated by watching Volvo's ground brave edge (we call it the fish thing) for a half-hour. I'm not even exaggerating, he just saw that once, and couldn't even talk. We need something with Hideous Laughter as a class to even vaguely approach that capability. High Charisma only means a generally striking appearance and we've seen the assless clown pants. And Blind fight.
Misanthropic Nihilist “Blood! I shall drown the world in both!„ NightmareNightmare is the physical manifestation of the Evil Sword Soul Edge, and the main antagonist in the Soul Calibur video game series.
Nightmare was originally created as the alter-ego of Siegfried Schtauffen, created when he got hold of Soul Edge and was consumed by the sword's will, during which time he wore dark blue armor that earned him the nickname ' the Azure Knight', and went by the name ' Nightmare'.Since Siegfried managed to free himself from the evil blade's influence, it has somehow formed an entirely new being, an avatar of darkness, instead of possessing a new host. This new being models himself after what he looked when possessing Siegfried. This new Nightmare, like the original, uses a great blade in battle, though his moves are unique, differentiating him from his human predecessor. It eventually found a new host named Graf Dumas which the art book confirms it is, in fact, Raphael Soral who died after the events of IV and his body was used by Soul Edge as the new Nightmare.Nightmare is also referred to as the Symbol of Destruction.
